I was the former vice president of recruitment and was determined to grow this Chapter and build on the recruitment success we had last year. I have a lot of goals for myself and for Kansas Beta, and I am beyond excited to continue this amazing momentum and to inspire all our members to live up to the name, The King of Fraternities. HONORS In the last 12 months, we've learned from mistakes and victories, leading to our most successful and productive year yet. One sign of this improvement is that our Chapter has been selected by SigEp Headquarters to pilot the new and improved Balanced Man Program. The national board will analyze our progress and feedback to decide if any changes need to be made or if the new program is ready to be installed nationwide. EXPONENTIAL GROWTH Manpower has been a main focus for us, so Dirk Daveline '87 challenged our recruitment team to not only recruit quality new members but to also make sure we had more geographical diversity (brothers from other states). To say we reached our goal would be an understatement! Our new member class consists of 23 young men, and over half hail from beyond the Kansas City area. BROTHERHOOD EVENTS In March 2023, SigEp sponsored an anti-hazing awareness speech, given by two mothers who lost their sons to hazing incidents, called "Love Mom and Dad." We partnered with the FSL office and had almost 3,000 members of our Greek community in attendance. We are planning another event on March 7 of this year where Dr. Louis Profeta will speak on the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse. Another main goal of mine is to formalize Chapter meetings and the overall culture of the house. We currently host one formal dinner per month and invite guest speakers to attend them. In February, Elliot Young, risk mitigations officer at KSU, spoke to our Chapter, and in March, we will hear from a group called Beers Aren't Bad. GIVING BACK Last fall, we hosted our second annual SigEp Safari, which raised almost $10,000! Later in the semester, we helped promote and raise money for the Rob Regier Golf Tournament and hosted an alumni get-together for all brothers attending the event. We raised a total of $43,000 and plan to help run the tournament for many years to come. I am blessed to be in the position I am in, and I am ecstatic to watch this Chapter grow into one of the top organizations on campus! Thank you for your continued support.
