5 Tips for Organized Finances Now is the perfect time to get organized, and one of the best places to start is with your finances. No matter your financial situation, taking control of your money can help you live a happier and more stress-free life. So, if you're looking to start off the new year on the right foot, here are five tips for organizing your finances. 1. Review last year's finances. Look at bank statements to find out how much money you have spent on various expenses. If you tracked your expenses last year, this step is even easier. From eating out to clothing, take an honest look at where your money went and what changes you plan to make for the new year. Also, review all bills, insurance policies, and subscriptions to make sure you are getting the best deal, and evaluate if they are truly of value to you. 2. Organize your budget for the year. ink about major expenses you may have this year, such as graduation or a major home and/ or vehicle repair.
