Sigma Phi Epsilon - Missouri Gamma Chapter 310 S Arthur Ashe Blvd Richmond, VA 23220-5706 Address Service Requested BEARTRACKS As we celebrate the first anniversary of our reinvented MO Gamma communications, our team wants to share the SigEp bond with as many of our alumni as we can. We created eTRACKS, a biweekly email blast that features alumni and Chapter tidbits, fun facts, etc. The classic Steve Thies '72 sense of fun and humor comes through on each one. Through the efforts of Rocky Andes '79, our "Brothers Loving Life" (BLL) spotlight series features quick insights and contact info for alumni from all eras. I encourage you to read our eTRACKS if you haven't already—look for "SigEp – Missouri Gamma" in your inbox. While we don't have a special Gamma Ray generator (see insert) to make connections happen, we hope we can inspire you to call a brother and reconnect. Maybe even a get-together. Let us know if you need any contact information. Fraternally yours, Dave Naeger '80 dnaegs@gmail.com From the Editor AVC REPORT SigEp Navigates Highs and Lows of 2023 Dave Denner '76 President Missouri Gamma Alumni Corporation denner@earthlink.net Missouri Gamma and the AVC have closed the books on 2023 and look forward to 2024. Recruiting was stronger, and our athletes excelled in intramurals. But our Chapter House is not at capacity, as recruitment was down last year (with some attrition from the COVID years). Grades took a slight dip, but the Chapter's cumulative GPA remains strong within the all-Greek average. Recruitment and academic improvement will be major focuses for Chapter President Tyler Warner '25 and his officers in 2024. The AVC held its annual meeting on December 20th and approved the financials and elected the seven directors for the year. Brian Bakala '13 graciously joined our team as a Director, replacing John Belshe '11 who will be greatly missed. With Brian joining our team, we will continue to have a youthful perspective on our board, which I am grateful for. Logan Wilcox '19 has moved from a Chapter Counselor role to a Faculty Advisor role as he pursues his PhD at MS&T. Thanks to recent graduate Jacob Kassing '22, who has agreed to step into the important role of Chapter Counselor. A shoutout to Mike Schmidt '75, who continues to serve as our Treasurer, a position he has dedicated himself to for over 10 years. Under his leadership, our account balances have rebounded from the lows we experienced after our 508 West 8th acquisition and COVID. Way to go, Brother Schmidt! Steve Thies '72, Rocky Andes '79, and Dave Naeger '80 continue to expand our alumni communications and look for ways to connect brothers with fellow alumni and the Chapter. I encourage everyone to open eTRACKS, our "Brothers Loving Life" series, and our BEARTRACKS newsletter. We are SigEps for life, and the more we are connected, the stronger we'll be.
