N E W F A C E S Last fall, the chapter embraced 11 new members through Continuous Open Bidding. We hosted a small-scale bid day at the chapter house on October 27th and an official initiation ceremony on November 5th. Spring 2024 recruitment began with Polish Week from January 4th-7th. On January 12th and 13th, members engaged in virtual meetings during "meet the chapters" rounds, during which women acquainted themselves with our chapter via a house video and a presentation of our financial transparency initiatives. During philanthropy rounds, we welcomed PNMs into the house and introduced them to our mission statement and active involvement in domestic violence awareness and prevention initiatives. Sisterhood round featured discussions about what it means to be a sister, while preference round provided a meaningful end to recruitment as our sisters voiced their "Why Alpha Chi?" Bid Day 2024 marked a significant milestone for our chapter, as 72 new members ran home to 103 East 15th, making it the largest class yet! G I V I N G B A C K Alpha Omicron remains dedicated to promoting awareness and understanding of domestic violence situations while offering examples of healthy relationships. We acknowledge that discussing such topics is challenging yet imperative given how widespread related incidents are today. On October 10th during Domestic Violence Awareness month, we held a tabling event at the Ohio State Union and the Oval. This event, which is currently in the process of being renamed from Best Kisser to Kisses for Consent, promoted healthy relationships and discussions on consensual language and actions. Additionally, our chapter organized Cookie Dough with A Chi O, a bi-annual event held this year on October 26th. Members raised funds for the domestic violence shelter LSS CHOICES. We also supported the Sweet and Sour Bake Sale, a collaborative effort with another Panhellenic organization aimed at fundraising for local causes. Our participation in a CycleBar event provided members with the opportunity to contribute by signing up for sessions. A highlight of the semester so far was Healthy Relationships Week from February 12th-16th. We hosted another tabling event which focused on the pivotal role that healthy relationships play in fostering a sense of comfort and belonging. M A K I N G T H E G R A D E In the fall, 88 members made the dean's list. Among those, 29 attained a perfect 4.0! Our chapter maintains a steadfast commitment to academic excellence under the leadership of our Vice President of Intellectual Development, Grace Wyszynski '22. Alpha Chi coordinates study rooms in campus libraries and engages in collaborative study sessions with other Panhellenic organizations.
