Guest House Kitchen — This design challenge was
to create a guest kitchen that could double as a high-end
catering space while blending seamlessly with the
grandeur of the main house.
The initial layout posed a challenge – a small galley
kitchen next to a laundry room and guest bathroom. The
solution? Walls were torn down and the floor was saw-cut
to add two sinks and relocate the range oven. The island's
cabinets and waterfalled counters were cleverly modified
to ensure proper airflow for the floor return, all while
maintaining a sleek appearance.
The inoperable window overlooking the patio was
ingeniously transformed into a pass-through with bar
seating – an ideal spot for serving hors d'oeuvres.
With walls torn down, the floor plan transitioned into an
airy open concept. Abundant natural light now floods the
space. The cabinets line the exterior, and a central island
was introduced to provide ample storage. To meet the
demands of entertaining, the kitchen was fitted with an
impressive array of Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove appliances.
The cabinetry boasts a fingerprint-resistant finish,
ensuring that the kitchen will remain spotless during the
most extravagant parties. Fantasy Macubas quartzite
from Brazil graces the countertops, enhancing the
kitchen's aesthetic.
Two trash cans and two recycling bins placed
strategically next to each sink to streamline prep and
cleanup. A Wolf 6-burner duel fuel range combo,
Wolf microwave, Cove dishwasher, and Sub-Zero panel
ready tower fridge and freezer make the kitchen a
culinary haven. A meticulously planned lighting scheme
encompasses ambient, task, accent, and decorative
lighting to enhance the kitchen's functionality and beauty.
A ventless Miele washer and dryer cater to linen cleaning
and guest needs in the casita.
