The Impact of the Fraternity Experience Brothers are more connected to their local communities, and they spend more time volunteering than nonaffiliated students. Research Proves Our Mission Is Important Fraternities empower students and provide a strong support system. When members seek help, they are twice as likely to turn to a brother than anyone else. Members experience greater gains in learning and graduate at higher rates than their peers. 83% of members say their confidence in their leadership skills increased because of their membership. Members are more academically engaged than their peers. "No other fraternity or sorority at OSU provides scholarships and leadership development programs on the scale as Sigma Chi. As alumni, we can take pride in the fact that we continue to come together and address the ever-changing needs of a new generation of brothers. By paying it forward, we demonstrate what it means to be a Sigma Chi for life." –Whit Culver '01, House Corporation Board President • Research shows that when a fraternity member leaves their chapter before graduation, the number one reason is lack of financial resources. To ensure the viability Gamma Delta, the House Corporation must prioritize the affordability of the Sigma Chi experience at OSU. • Scholarship grants are made possible by our alumni-driven endowed scholarship funds at the OSU Foundation. Since its inception, more than 125 alumni have contributed. Collectively, the value of the fund exceeds $1.2 million. • For the 2023 school year, grants to undergraduate brothers exceeded $48,000. An additional $15,000 in grants were awarded to 40 undergraduate brothers who attended the first-ever Leadership Journey, an experiential workshop modeled after ΣΧ's successful Horizons Program and delivered in Stillwater by the Sigma Chi Leadership Institute.
