C ongratulations are in order for sophomore Seva Kiselev '22, who obtained his U.S. citizenship! His journey is an inspiration to us all, and we invite you to join us in celebrating this fantastic achievement. Sigma Nu Brother Celebrates U.S. Citizenship Congratulations, Seva Kiselev '22! 5 W e're thrilled to announce that Sirius James, a member of the Navy/Marines ROTC unit on campus, has been selected as the prestigious ROTC All-American Student of the Year! Majoring in political science and naval science, he exemplifies outstanding leadership and commitment within our ROTC community. Sirius was an honored guest of the Military Bowl on December 27 at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland, and featured on ESPN's broadcast of the game. His journey has been nothing short of remarkable! Leadership Excellence: Sirius has held pivotal roles within the unit, serving as Battalion Physical Training Instructor, Regulation Drill, Platoon Commander, Company Commander, and Squad Leader. Academic Dedication: Alongside his leadership roles, Sirius has diligently pursued his studies, and demonstrated excellence. Initiatives: Notably, he developed a comprehensive six-month training plan for Marine Option midshipmen at UW, addressing critical gaps in the current training curriculum. Community Engagement: Sirius' commitment extends beyond campus, working with Treehouse for Kids to combat child hunger in Seattle and contributing to the Green Seattle Forest restoration program. Words of Inspiration: Sirius shares, "What motivates me to pursue a military career isn't necessarily for myself and what it can provide me, but more what I can provide for our battalion. There's no greater honor." A panel of judges selected Sirius based on the pillars of the ROTC program: leadership, military excellence, scholarship, and service. He will receive a $6,500 scholarship, with a $5,000 donation to support the ROTC booster club or student fund. Sigma Nu Senior Named ROTC All-American Student of the Year Pedro Covarrubias EXCELS at College of Chapters C hapter President Pedro Covarrubias journeyed to Virginia to attend Sigma Nu's College of Chapters, the fraternity's annual leadership development conference. Alongside fellow brothers from across the country, Pedro dedicated himself to refining his leadership skills and crafting an inspiring vision for the coming year of Gamma Chi! Fall Quarter Retreat to Mt. Rainier T he brothers of Sigma Nu had a fantastic time at their annual fall quarter retreat! Huge thanks to Brotherhood Chairman Mathias Malewicz for putting together such an amazing weekend.
