Syracuse University 5 O ur chapter has done an incredible job of continuing the principles our alumni established before us while also growing as a unit. We said goodbye to more than 30 seniors to graduation, so the expectation was our brotherhood would need some adjustment to retain our chapter's strength. As is our specialty, we started this semester with a heavy emphasis on recruitment efforts. VP of Recruitment Zach Weiss '26 put on a show with fun activities and spread the word about what our great fraternity has to offer. His committee included over 20 people, and they succeeded in landing 13 outstanding men who have the poise and personality to be the torchbearers of DU Syracuse's future. VP of AME Arren Cuyler '24 also did an excellent job teaching this group of men what it really means to be a DU. Our signature event was a massive concert hosted as a joint philanthropy with Lambda Chi Alpha. Every house attended: our ticket sales exceeded 1,700 and it's been called the best Greek event on campus this semester! We continued our partnership with the nonprofit "We Rise Above the Streets" by donating a portion of the proceeds. This event was by far the biggest event our fraternity has pulled off since our recharter, and I need to give a huge shoutout to our socials for not only this event but also for their incredible work in general. Thank you, Nick Albanese '25, Jackson Bernard '26, and James Barker '26! This semester included many enjoyable activities organized by Brotherhood Chairmen Jack Moochler '24 and Isaiah Taveras '26. We held a Basketball Tournament, a casino night (hosted at 801), our signature "Booze Cruise" and, as is tradition, our annual Cry Night. As you all know, this year also marked a legendary milestone. We were founded in the Hall of Languages in 1873, so we celebrated our 150th anniversary. Thank you to Ken Hyman '88, Mark Linnan '85, Rick Holland '83, Kevin Stein '83, Will Broad '26, and Ben Harris '24 for putting everything together for our alumni weekend and making it one to remember. My Executive Board this semester deserves all the credit for making sure our house runs smoothly and ensuring we build on the 2023 DU Sweepstakes Semi-Finalist award we received in July. It all begins with Vice President Cole Weintraub '25; his ability to step in and lead is so valuable—this house could not run without him. PRESIDENT'S PEN POINTS Our executive board vets, Cage Lasley '25, Robert Munch '25, and Nathan Starkey '25, continued their success from last semester while also taking initiative to reach even greater heights. Our Academic Mentorship Program, DEI Forums, and second philanthropy, Kats & Dogs (hosted with Kappa Alpha Theta), are just a few things that were implemented this semester. Our wonderful VP of Finance Riley Wall '24 is officially stepping down, and his jersey will be hanging in the rafters soon. His nearly two years of work will never be forgotten by our brotherhood, as he tirelessly strove to make sure our chapter could sustain the initiatives we envisioned and executed. Our new guys on board, Will Burger '26 and Jack Lucas '26, did a great job of asserting themselves and making their presence felt immediately. I am sure you will be hearing from them very soon. As I exit my post as president, I would like to express my gratitude to the entire brotherhood for their excellence, and I hope we can all come together to make sure this great fraternity can live on for another 150 years. Dikaia, Ethan Gunther '24 President James Barker '26, Rick Holland '83, Ethan Gunther '24, Robert Munch '25, William Broad '26, William Burger '26, Jack Lucas '26, Adam Neufeld '26, and Zachery Weiss '26 gather for a photo at this year's Delta Upsilon Fraternity Leadership Institute in Kansas City, Missouri.
