14 | thejewelr ybook.com When I came across this quote, it made so much sense to me. So many of my conversa- tions with people in the industry are about how quickly time is going by, along with frequent complaints about not having enough time to get everything done. Never once have I thought of time as some- thing I can control, so as I am writing my fi rst Publisher's Letter of 2024, instead of saying how fast the year went by, I am going to take charge of my time and remind myself every day that I am the pilot in control of having the best day possible. (I'd say it's my New Year's resolution but I don't believe in them!) For the fi rst time in many years, I embraced the process of getting a magazine out and piloted the journey. I took control and enjoyed the ride of putting together this winter issue, it was fun! I had a great time assigning editorial and working with our TJB industry contributors Danielle Barber, Kathleen Cutler, Peter Smith, and our newest to be sharing her expertise, Jen Cullen Williams. Our goal is to always share the inside scoop, trends and business know-how from experts who have their fi nger on the pulse of our industry. Michael Shulman shares a great profi le on Lord Jewelry (spectacular designs), our Senior Editor Lanny Udell celebrates the legacy of Lux Bond & Green, I share my Instant Style picks. Editor Dan Scott shares a pearl com- pany's legacy as well as his take on the rise of men's jewelry, which, a er so many years, is fi nally fi nding its place. Leading the way is the beyond-talented K. Brunini and their new men's line adorning our cover. So enjoy our winter issue, and start the new year by climbing into the cockpit as your own pilot. Happy landings!
