WASHINGTON STATE UNIVERSITY
FALL 2023
Updates from Washington Alpha
I
hope this newsletter finds you well and filled with the same
Cougar spirit that has always defined our Fraternity. In this
issue, we have some important updates and celebrations to
share.
CELEBRATING EXCELLENCE: GOLD BUCHANAN CUP AWARD
We are thrilled to announce that Washington Alpha Chapter was
awarded the prestigious Gold Buchanan Cup at the 58th Grand
Chapter Conclave in San Antonio. This recognition reflects the
dedication and excellence of our alumni, undergraduates, and the
entire Fraternity. More details on this remarkable achievement
can be found later in this issue.
HONORING A BROTHER: ROSS TELLO '24
It is with heavy hearts that we acknowledge the loss of our
undergraduate brother, Ross Tello '24, who succumbed to cancer
this year. In this issue, we celebrate Ross's life and the spirit he
brought to our house. His memory will forever be cherished.
CALL FOR PARTICIPATION: ALUMNI VOLUNTEER CORPORATION
AVC plays a pivotal role in shaping the present and future
of our Chapter. We invite all interested alumni to consider
volunteering their time and expertise. AVC is actively involved
in planning house renovations, managing corporation finances,
and supporting the success of the Chapter in various ways from
scholarships to recruitment.
Your involvement can make a significant difference, and we
encourage you to reach out if you're interested in contributing to
the continued success of Washington Alpha Chapter.
Thank you for your ongoing support and for being a part of our
vibrant alumni community. Together, we can continue to uplift
our Fraternity and honor the memory of those who have played a
special role in its history.
Wishing you all the best in the year ahead. Go Cougs!

CELEBRATION, SORROW, AND SERVICE
Updates from Washington Alpha
W
e are heartbroken to share that our
brother and friend, Ross Tello '24,
passed away on May 21, 2023, from cancer.
Ross loved SigEp more than anything and
never forgot the day he received his bid:
October 25, 2021. He always used to say, "It's
not just a great day, but a legendary day to
be a SigEp."
He was one of the most involved members
of our Fraternity and has left an incredible
impact on every one of us.
"This Fraternity meant everything to Ross,
and not soon after, Ross meant everything to
us," Kevin Cole '25 shared.
