Christy Garnett, who came to Alpha Chi this summer, has been a house director for six years. A 1983 graduate of the University of Missouri, Christy later earned a master's degree in education from Lincoln University. She taught in South Callaway, Jefferson City and Raytown schools for 30 years before becoming a house director for Delta Delta Delta at MU in 2017. From 2019 to 2023, Christy was the house director for Alpha Phi at Mizzou. You can contact Christy at axomizzou900@gmail.com. Alpha Nu adds 85 new members this fall Alpha Nu adds 85 new members this fall C elebrating the end of fall formal recruitment on Aug. 19, we welcomed 70 new members to 900 Richmond Avenue on Bid Day. The theme was Strawberry Shortcake, featuring pink, red and green décor—and lots of strawberries, of course! VP of Recruitment Grace Moriarty '20 and VP of Recruitment Information Kathleen McWay '20 worked hard to make this year's events successful. The chapter added an additional 15 members through COB. Members come from 11 states, with the majority from Missouri and Illinois. All were initiated on Oct. 14, following a busy new-member period. Welcome, sisters! Remembering A Former Remembering A Former House Director House Director Marilyn Rae Rose Thudium of Liberty, Mo., Alpha Nu's house director from 2007-11, passed away on March 11, 2023. A member of Alpha Xi Delta at Missouri Valley College, Marilyn applied her sorority experience while serving Alpha Nu Chapter. Her dedication to the role earned her a Panhellenic Housemother of the Year Award.
