The exact wording was provided by Loretta Warner in a press release, however, according to the Legal notices pub- lished in Parker Pioneer and information pro- vided by the Arizona Corporation Commission, Quartzsite Business League, Inc. is a FOR Profi t business corporation with 2,000 shares; the "par value of each share of stock is one cent." Desert Messenger reached out to Quartzsite Business League Directors via email for clarifi cation, but as of press time, has not received a response. Response received just prior to press time from Loretta Warner: "The process used by the Quartzsite Business League to become a non- profi t organization is on the advice of an Enrolled Agent with the IRS who has set up many non- profi t corporations. According to LegalZoom an organization must either be a corporation, asso- ciation or LLC. Once it has been created as one of the above a form is fi led with the IRS to become a non-profi t organization. However, it has to be one of the above BEFORE it can be designated as a non-profi t. LegalZoom and other companies like it, set up the for-profi t corporation, followed immediately by fi ling for the non-profi t status so it appears to be one task to the consumer. In our case, we chose to be a corporation and fi le our request for Non-Profi t status ourselves instead of using a company such as LegalZoom because it is far less expensive. The form to be designated as a non-profi t has been fi led. Once the form is fi led, the non-profi t designation goes back to the date of the fi ling." Desert Messenger News strives for accuracy and apologizes for the error. Due to late timing, Desert Messenger has not verifi ed these claims.
