Endeavors AN EXCEPTIONALLY HEALTHY BROTHERHOOD We have great leadership and members hungry to get involved. Brotherhood Chairmen Nathan Gupton '24 and Logan Hock '24 have hosted a house-favorite brotherhood event, "Shark Tank," as well as game nights, class athletic tournaments, and go-karting. New items such as Love Island Wednesdays and the Theta Chi Tribune have provided new bonding opportunities and excitement. Dad's Weekend is coming up, and the itinerary from Michael Cummings '24 is drawing our largest parent event crowd since before COVID. PHILANTHROPY In the spring, we held our annual Belize Dance Marathon for the James Arthur Albert Foundation. We raised over $8,000 by the big day through cold calls, games, and plenty of dancing. Nash Linsley '24 and Zach Rosenberger '24 danced through the whole four-hour event, including our Zoom call toward the end with some of our scholars in Belize. By the end of our fundraising, we totaled over $29,000. Our brothers also helped with the Books and Bricks for Belize Auction in downtown Des Moines, which raised over $500,000! ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Gamma Tau earned a spring GPA of 3.29 and aims to hit 3.30+ this fall semester. We know there is always plenty of room for scholastic growth! Zach Rosenberger and Michael Cummings attended the Initiative Academy in Bloomington, Indiana, where Zach achieved his Resolute Man status! Although Michael is already a Resolute Man, he joined to film a recruitment video for the National Fraternity. Both men enjoyed discussions with fellow attendees about leadership and growth (as an individual and within a community). By the week's end, Gamma Tau was bestowed the Chapter Achievement Award for our performance over the last school year! ALUMNI RECONNECTION The 2023 Drake Relays were a terrific time as alumni visited Gamma Tau and the Peggy's tent. The alumni event at Big Grove Brewery was also a blast! Per tradition, we hosted our annual ΘX Building Corp. meeting and welcomed the class of 2023 as new alumni later that day. During RAGBRAI 2023 in July, a group of alumni stopped by the chapter house and had dinner with our summer live-in brothers. The Chapter Advisory Board has done a terrific job of staying in contact with their undergraduate counterparts and being available to assist with operations. LOOKING FORWARD Now that I'm in my seventh semester at Drake, this is the most confident I have been in the brotherhood and our leadership. We are back to a full house of 30, and I can already tell these men show the most compatibility and togetherness I have experienced. Factoring that with our amazing new pledge class, I can tell this will be an unforgettable year. Seniors have already planned our annual Colorado winter break trip and are working hard on a class trip—plus, of course, the greatest anniversary celebration during the 2024 Relays. Things are trending upward, and I'm excited to see where we go as I step out of leadership this December. Future leadership is in great hands with quality brothers who are ready and eager to accept that responsibility. There is so much to look forward to, and I hope I have the chance to share it all with you at our anniversary!
