Delta Tau Delta page 2 W e are happy to report another year of brotherhood and success at The Ohio State University! One member who exemplifies our devotion to academic achievement is Cole Petch '25, a marketing major with a minor in entrepreneurship and innovation at the Max M. Fisher College of Business. Cole is a captain of the ambassador team for Fisher's Future, a highly selective academic group within the Fisher School of Business, and hosts information sessions, holds weekly office hours, and helps lead tours and guide more than 1,000 incoming students as they begin their academic journey at Fisher. In Cole's words, "Working as an ambassador is my way of giving back to the college which has opened countless doors and provided me with many academic and professional opportunities. The work is extremely fulfilling, and I'm glad I can help recruit the next great class of Buckeyes." Cole is one of many Beta Phis who are using their academic achievement and desire to improve Greek life and the Buckeye community as a whole. Strengthening the community around us has always been a point of pride for us. This priority is clearly reflected in Andrew Pelok '25, our chapter's community service chairman, who plans weekly events with a local Columbus food bank. His dedication to community service inspires brothers to donate their time to help restock, unload, and help supply those in need with fresh food. Beta Phi expects an excellent year of philanthropic efforts as Andrew looks for even more opportunities in Columbus. Another member, Luis Gayola '25 is the vice president of community involvement for the Interfraternity Council at Ohio State. In October, IFC kicked off Halloween festivities with Greek Shriek, an event open to all Greek life and local families. It was IFC's biggest community service event of the year and, this year, it was planned and coordinated by Luis! Andrew and Luis continue to sacrifice their time for the communities of Columbus and Ohio State, and the rest of us are excited to support their passion by donating our time and effort. Finally, we highlight one of the most important and long-lasting goals we have here at Beta Phi: to continue creating and fostering brotherhood within the chapter. On September 15, Brotherhood Chairman Joe Caldiero '25 and Daniel Marsh '25 coordinated the fantastic Peter R. Peirce and John W. Galbreath Memorial Scholarship Golf Classic for the entire chapter. The outing itself was a huge success, as members were able to relax and compete together on the course. The event reminded us of the friendships, both new and old, that all members of Beta Phi share. As always, it is great to be a Delt. RAH DELT! Griffin Callow '25, President It's Great to Be a Delt Beta Phi Is Making a Difference A Life of Endless Service an AA credit rating. This feat gave way to a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, five terms in office as a congressman, and Carper's two terms as governor. In 2001, he became Delaware's junior senator, moving up to senior in 2009. Following a record 14 reelections, Sen. Carper announced his decision to not seek reelection in 2024. "I've had a chance to serve our country since I was 17," Carper added, reflecting on decades in the Navy and in office. "I feel fortunate and blessed to have a chance to serve in these different roles, and especially the peopleā¦I love the people, they've taken me in as one of their own." "Bipartisan solutions are lasting solutions," Sen. Carper believes. He was recently honored with the Gold de Fleury Medal by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, acknowledging Carper's leadership of a bipartisan group of senators to address national water infrastructure needs. Don't Quit Throughout his career, Sen. Carper has taken opportunities to share 10 simple words: "Aim high, work hard, embrace the golden rule, don't quit." Those simple phrases have served Carper well throughout his career in politics. You can read more about Sen. Carper's history of service at carper.senate.gov/about.
