NOVEMBER 2023 RETAILOBSERVER.COM 35 C EDIA Expo, the platform where residential technology integration, design, and construction professionals connect, learn, and engage, and Commercial Integrator Expo, the new exposition and conference for the commercial audiovisual integration channel and technology managers, announces 15,541 total combined registrants with a verified attendance of 12,848 industry professionals at CEDIA Expo 2023 and Commercial Integrator Expo 2023. Show attendees came from all 50 U.S. states and 21 countries. "CEDIA Expo 2023 and Commercial Integrator Expo 2023 were bustling with industry professionals experiencing the newest tech and learning about trends in the residential and commercial audio-visual industry," said Jason McGraw, CTS, group vice president for CEDIA Expo, Commercial Integrator Expo and KBIS, Emerald. "An energy and buzz of excitement was evident on the crowded show floor!" The co-located events featured 340 exhibitors with 154,400 net square feet of exhibits and welcomed over 32% first-time attendees and 94 first-time exhibitors. "With 48% of CEDIA Expo and Commercial Integrator Expo attendees reporting that they serve commercial markets in addition to residential, the growth in resimercial opportunities was clearly evident at this year's shows," McGraw said. Highlights included Lutron's debut of a new booth concept emphasizing the lifestyle benefits of its human-centric tunable lighting and motorized shading systems. Notably, Crestron debuted the release of its Crestron Home OS 4 to provide customers with simplified access to the commands they use the most, and Snap One introduced more than 20 new products across a wide range of its brands and verticals. The shows also featured the latest products from Origin Acoustics, Legrand AV, Absen, Just Video Walls, Kaadas, AtlasIED, Aurora, Meyer Sound, Samsung, Sony, and many other leading brands demonstrating the convergence of residential and commercial technologies and applications on the joint show floor. One of the most exciting show features was the riveting keynote by technology futurist and innovation expert Scott Steinberg who discussed the current and future implications of AI (Artificial Intelligence) in the custom installation industry. Steinberg noted that AI will transform the way industry professionals work, communicate, and connect with customers in the years to come – more than the last 10,000 years did. The AI theme continued throughout the shows, with thought-provoking seminars and engaging panels that discussed the new opportunities that will emerge as AI transforms the audiovisual market. Another feature of the show was the the Smart Stage that focused on relevant industry-wide topics, emerging technologies, and trending market segments for the residential technology industry. The Smart Stage, sponsored by Nice, featured panel discussions with technology experts covering various topics, including architecture and design, wellness, hybrid work, digital signage, business management, and many others.
