With cable and streaming channels dedicated to the processes, coupled with a new way of living after lockdowns and an appreciation of our personal environments—there seems to be a great deal of "out with the old, in with the new". Conversely, I'm a big believer in Albert Hadley's insight, "Design is coming to grips with one's real lifestyle, one's real place in the world. Rooms should not be put together for show but to nourish one's well-being." Our chapter home at 1601 Munson Avenue, at nearly 40 years of age, is "coming to grips" with her lifestyle, place in today's world and struggling with her ability to nourish the well- being of our active Texas Eta sisters. Large-scale renovations and rebuilds are happening across Aggieland's Sorority Row. The current state of our chapter home reflects neither the legacy nor the strength of Texas Eta; simply put, updates are urgently needed to keep our competitive edge. Chapter House Corporation has carefully evaluated the long- term needs of Texas Eta and its members, with a focus on safety, academics and recruitment. To meet the ever-changing needs of today's students, alumnae leadership has determined renovating our current home is the best way to remain competitive in the Texas A&M Panhellenic community. How on earth do we accomplish this?! Those who attended our open house on October 28 will know the answer—we have launched the first ever Texas Eta Capital Campaign: Follow the Arrow Home: Building on 40 Years of Sisterhood. Please be on the lookout for the campaign brochure in the next few weeks for more details on the slated projects. Early commitments from generous alumnae and the collegiate chapter totaling more than $1.6 million have given us a remarkable head start to our $2.5 million goal. The goal of the campaign may be $2.5 million but every dollar above the goal will further safeguard the future of 1601. When considering your gift, please think of the huge impact it will have for generations of Texas Etas, no gift is too small and please don't let the goal number limit your giving. It will take support from every one of our almost 2,000 Texas Eta sisters to get us across the finish line! As you receive more details on the campaign over the next few weeks, I encourage you to reflect on why you joined Pi Beta Phi. Here's our chance to literally, put our "treasure" where our mouth is—think on our core values: Integrity, Lifelong Commitment, Honor and Respect, Personal and Intellectual Growth, Philanthropic Service to Others and Sincere Friendship—this campaign offers us the opportunity to put them all into action. Here's to the next chapter in our sisterhood's future— I hope you join us in writing it! In Pi Phi, Vanessa Redman '90 Campaign Chair ringchingredman@gmail.com
