During the spring, we hosted our annual formal event, a murder mystery in an art gallery, which was wonderfully planned by Social Chairman Navpreet Singh '25. This event was met with a positive reception from Brothers and attendees outside of Beta. We also enjoyed brotherhood events such as our Dave and Busters trip where Brothers hung out and played video games. Overall, spring was about continuing the great things we did in the fall. ACADEMIC AND EXTRACURRICULAR EFFORTS Beta reached new highs in campus involvement this spring. Many members held high positions in Rocket Team, the Association of Student Activities, Sloan Business Club, gymnastics, and five other organizations. We maintained a Chapter GPA of 4.5/5.0 thanks to the work of William Nolan '24 and Lauren Futami and their study breaks. Beta reached another new height in the IFC as we won our second Chapter of the Year Award, and former President Ivan Marshall '23 and GRA Lauren Futami won Outstanding IFC Member of the Year and Outstanding GRA of the Year. This would not have been possible without the work from Brothers past and present in this great fraternity. We also had Campus Preview Weekend where we hosted 20 prospective MIT students, the most in our fraternity's recent memory. We made a 24-layer cake, offered plenty of free food, and made sure all Brothers and potential guests had a great time. BONDS BEYOND CAMPUS Heading into summer, Brothers went their separate ways to enjoy the vacation ahead. Some went as far as India while others stayed close by, living at 119 Bay State Road the entire summer. Even while separated, Brothers still bonded over Zoom calls. We played board games and caught up with each other monthly, and some alumni even stayed connected through our communication forum. I personally attended the Beta National Convention alongside Member Educator Franck Belemkoabga '24 in Dallas. We connected with Betas from various Chapters and won our third Knox Award in a row, along with a Sisson Award, Outstanding Member Education Award, and various others. This was a testament to our Chapter's work toward fraternal excellence. LOOKING FORWARD Following Convention, we had our annual work week and recruitment. This gave us a chance to bond while welcoming six new Brothers. We hope to continue this theme of excellence and welcome others into the brotherhood throughout the fall. I am proud to be in the driver's seat helping Beta Upsilon grow closer and more excellent than ever. Yours in _kai_, Joshua Curtis Kuffour '24 Chapter President BROTHERS CONTINUE TO THRIVE Studying Hard and Growing the Chapter
