I n the past year, Delta Psi has done so many amazing things for our chapter and community. In April, we held our annual Monmouth with Pi Beta Phi. We also held our annual Kappa Klassic golf tournament over Dad's Weekend. We raised over $56,000, which went to two philanthropies: The Jed Foundation and Children's Miracle Network. Maura Valentine '21, our incredible philanthropy director, hosted this event, and she is working on a few new projects this fall. One event she organized this semester was our "Two Steppin' Tuesday," a backyard-style dance/cookout event we hosted with Phi Delta Theta at their lodge on October 3. During primary recruitment in August, we received 68 incredible new members. We had a presentation on September 29 to celebrate and welcome our new members with their families in attendance. We held our first date party of the fall on October 5 with Chi Omega. On October 16, we celebrated Founder's Day with our alumnae community in Lubbock. This is something we look forward to every year as it brings Kappas of all ages together for a sweet celebration of our traditions. On October 21, we will hold initiation to officially welcome and transform our new members into active members. We achieved third in grades out of the Panhellenic community last semester. On September 15-17, Caroline Akin '22, our leadership coordinator, represented Delta Psi at the national Kappa Kappa Gamma Leadership Academy in Columbus, Ohio. During Homecoming on October 8-14, we participated in all the fun, spirited events with our pair, Delta Tau Delta. Our Homecoming float theme was "Best in the West Since 1923." We've had a wonderful fall semester so far and can't wait to continue our involvement!
