A Top 5 Chapter We're so proud of our Oklahoma Beta sisters. We were a Balfour Nominated Premier Collegiate Chapter at Convention this summer. While we didn't win, it is a great accomplishment showing just how strong our chapter is. Scholarship and Service As we always say at Oklahoma Beta, academics come first. This past year was no exception. At the Greek Awards banquet, we took home the Dean Zelma Patchin Award for Outstanding Scholarship, meaning we had the highest GPA for the academic year! Our overall GPA was a 3.73, with a member GPA of 3.74 and a New Member GPA of 3.71. To foster academic excellence, members have study groups within their majors, work as tutors with the university and go above and beyond with their study hours. The dedication to our studies is one of many traits that makes Oklahoma Beta an exemplary chapter. Our first philanthropy event this fall was the Race for Reading on September 30, a two-part race (5K followed by a color fun run) benefiting our philanthropies: Read > Lead > Achieve ® and Stillwater Head Start. Earlier in the semester, members visited Head Start to help clean classrooms and prepare for the school year ahead. This year, many Pi Phi sisters are serving as ambassadors for the College of Arts and Sciences as well as the Spears School of Business. Several more of our members are on the executive council for the American Association of University Women. Homecoming is a huge part of Oklahoma State, and we are honored to have two Pi Phis on this year's Homecoming Executive Committee! Pi Phi intramural teams this year include volleyball, soccer and softball. United Under a Halo While we wait for our beautiful new chapter house in 2025, a gracious alumna has allowed us to come together at her rental house in Stillwater—now known as the "Halo House." The Halo House is a place for movie nights, arts and crafts, s'mores by the firepit, games and hanging out with our wonderful House Director, Mom T! Though we lack the space for large gatherings, our leadership team has worked hard to provide a traditional Pi Phi schedule. This semester, we have three date parties planned with other organizations. Along with that, we have rented out two large tailgate tents in the center of campus for all our members to enjoy on Dad's Day. We will have a large gathering area with food, beverages and games to make our members feel right at home. A Thrilling Pi Phi Future This housing transition reminds us that a physical place does not make Pi Phi home; the people and sisterhood do. We've maintained strong sisterhood connections with a high retention rate, and we plan to keep that foundation strong in the year to come. We can already tell Oklahoma Beta's new home will be worth the wait!
