T he commitment of our Pi Phi alumnae and collegians to the Continuing Our Oklahoma Beta Sisterhood at 324 capital campaign has pushed us to where we are today—construction has begun and we're on our way to making our vision of building a beautiful new home a reality! We are thrilled to have reached this point, but as often happens, we've experienced some delays with our project. Some of our delays included a demolition permit delay by the city, an old basement was discovered during demolition that needed to be removed, and an exceptionally rainy June and July which led to soil compaction issues. However, here are a few project updates and progress from Tim Scott, of T. Scott Construction, that we want to share with you: • We completed the geo-pier scope quicker than estimated. • We passed the underfloor plumbing rough-in inspection the first time. • We poured the concrete slab on grade the first week of October. • We have started CMU masonry for the elevator shaft. • The structural steel is currently scheduled to arrive on site this month. We're hoping the weather will be kind to us this fall and winter to allow us to continue productive progress! To make sure the collegians have a finished home upon move in, we have extended the move in date to Spring 2025. The collegians are being assisted by the Alumnae Advisory Committee (AAC) to make living arrangements for the fall of 2024. This will allow construction work to be finished before the collegians move in. Although we are sad to share this news, we know that once the house is complete in less than a year and a half from now, the wait will have been worth it! As construction continues, we encourage all sisters to donate to the campaign. Although we are on a new timeline, it is crucial that we reach our $9.5 million goal to complete this project both on budget and on time. We have raised 88% of goal; our dedicated sisterhood always strives for 100%, but we'll need everyone on board to reach our goal! If you have not given, please do your part in helping us reach our goal and ensuring Pi Beta Phi continues to thrive at Oklahoma State. Your gift will not go unnoticed. If you have already made your gift, we truly appreciate your support. Please reach out to a sister and share why you gave. Remind her of the friendships, memories and education we gained at 324 and how this campaign is critical to providing future sisters with similar opportunities. If you are able to make another gift, we would value this additional support. Thank you for your dedication to our sisterhood!
