3 Sigma Kappa Support the Sisterhood! Upcoming Alumnae Opportunities D o you live near Gainesville or visit frequently? Have you been wondering how you can reconnect with chapter happenings or support the active sisters? Consider attending a ritual event! Sigma Kappa alumnae represent such an important part of our sisterhood, not only for the chapter but also for Sigma Kappa overall. In fact, alumnae play a key role in many ritual events. If you are interested, the chapter would appreciate more alumnae presence at the initiation and Order of the Triangle ceremonies. Please contact Denise Stilts Abreu '86 at btcorpboardalumnaerelations@gmail.com if you would like to participate! Upcoming Events October 22 Fall 2023 Initiation December 6 Winter Order of the Triangle Gloria Gall Frazier '61 shares, "Hurricane Ian came ashore in Naples, Fla., and then decided to visit for 8-10 hours before moving up the coast. The high waves came up and over the beach barriers. The water totally flooded the 14-floor condo building's first floor and took everything out through the front doors to disappear or become debris. Over 40 cars were submerged and totaled! Hurricane Ian's gift to me and my husband is that we survived, and the next day we fled to Seattle and Tacoma." Email: jwolsfeltsganga@yahoo.com Meet Michelle Introducing Our New House Director T he traditional concept of a "house mom" is a thing of the past. Today's house directors wear many hats, including event coordinator, operations and facility manager, customer service representative, security and safety officer, and so much more. Having a great house director in place ensures that our house is well-managed, safe, and maintained in excellent condition. Knowing this, we are very pleased to introduce our new house director, Michelle Pilon, who has joined our chapter housing team for the 2023-24 school year. Michelle has an extensive background in international business, project management, and interior design, and most recently has served as house director for sororities in Virginia and Oklahoma. We are certain that her winning combination of experience and a calm, positive attitude will be a welcome addition to our house. If you're visiting 1108, be sure to introduce yourselves! Alumnae News We asked alumnae: Describe your Beta Tau experience in three words. FRIENDSHIP SISTERHOOD HAPPINESS Home, Fun, Responsibility, Love, Cherished Memories, Growth, Service, Social
