The Welcoming Committee Beta Tau Housing Corporation of Sigma Kappa at the University of Florida • Fall 2023 Beta Tau ConnΣKtion SPIRIT WEEK PAVES THE WAY FOR NEW MEMBER CLASS I n the heat of early August, before most students packed up to return to Gainesville, our active Beta Tau sisters were already in the house, busily preparing for recruitment! As is the case every summer, Spirit Week hyped up the chapter and inspired them to recruit a perfect new member class! The sisters really brought the fun with daily themes like "Sweet Life on Pan Drive," "Building the Best SK," "Mission: Top Recruitment," and "Red, White, and We Want YOU!" (If you don't follow the Beta Tau chapter on Instagram at @SigmaKappaUF, you really should. You'll regularly find pictures of events like these there!) Following Spirit Week, the primary recruitment rounds allowed sisters to share their passion for our philanthropies (including the Alzheimer's Association), their pride in our sisterhood, the many benefits of life in our beautiful house, and what being a member of Sigma Kappa means to them. Bid Day arrived a few days later, and 74 new members found their "Perfect Match" by joining Sigma Kappa. Congratulations to the sisters of Beta Tau on a very successful recruitment, and welcome to the new member class of 2023! On behalf of all Beta Tau alumnae, we're thrilled that you chose Sigma Kappa! "Spirit Week was a great opportunity to bond with everyone in my group! I already miss recruitment and being with all my friends all day, every day. It was such a fun two weeks and something I look forward to each year!" –Ashley Pendlebury '21 "Running home to my sisters after going through recruitment was such a magical experience. As a Pi Chi, I wasn't able to be with my sisters during the recruitment process, but running home to them made the hard work worth it." –Macy Russo '19 Grace McClung '22, Olivia Civettini '22, and Allison Evans '22 "Building the Best SK" during Spirit Week! Talia Hassel '22 and Joanna Privolos '22 are ready to greet new members during spirit week.
