Page 6 Meet Our High Rho I am Bryan Gregorio Torres '22-2157, ΛXA's High Rho. Currently, I am completing a MECOP internship at Daimler in Portland. My major is mechanical engineering, with a business minor. Hillsboro, OR, is my hometown, and I am a 2020 graduate of Century High School. My free time includes working out, playing soccer, and watching Formula 1. In addition to being a Lambda Chi, I am a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, Catalyst Scholarship Program, and MECOP. My career aspirations are to work in the automotive industry and manufacture cars of the future. Arriving at Oregon State, I didn't see myself ever joining a fraternity. I was a bit awkward and shy, but after talking to some of my friends, they convinced me to give recruitment a try. Joining ΛXA was the best decision of my life. Learning what it means to be a brother and developing the skills to be a leader shaped me into the person I am now, and can comfortably say that I am proud of who I have become. ΛXA stood out to me because of the zero tolerance for hazing. You often hear stories about how young men get hurt in hazing incidents, but ΛXA fraternity is an environment in which I feel welcomed and accepted for who I am. This has given me the opportunity to learn the teachings of the fraternity. The bond I have made with the brothers here is special, and I want to help perpetuate the ideals that this fraternity stands for. This brotherhood means a great deal to me, and serving in the High Rho position provides me with an opportunity to give back. Please reach out to me with any questions that you have. Thanks, and GO BEAVS! Yours in ZAX, Bryan Gregorio Torres '22-2157 High Rho/Alumni Liaison gregorib@oregonstate.edu I n January, we hosted our annual "Can You Dash" philanthropy event. Brothers visited neighborhoods alongside participating sororities to collect donations for those in need. Throughout the day, everyone collected 430 food items and 35 bags of clothes! The event raised $200 in donations and provided an overall value of $2,000 (including dollars and supplies) to Community Outreach Incorporated. Delta Gamma took first place, followed by Alpha Gamma Delta in second and Delta Delta Delta in third. Alpha Lambda of Lambda Chi Alpha has a strong tradition in helping those in need in our community, and we are proud to continue this tradition.
