Keith grew up in Pampa, Texas, where he graduated from Pampa High School in 1965. Growing up, Keith participated enthusiastically in many sports, including football and track throughout high school. He was also active in Boy Scouts, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. As a Pike, Keith made many lifetime friends and stories he loved to share. He was also a member of The Admirals Club and Knights of the Symphony in Austin as well as the Masonic family, Austin Lodge No 12. In 2022, he was awarded a Masonic award for over 40 years of service. Keith and his wife, Martha, loved traveling and visited all 50 states by 2013. He was a longtime fan of UT sports, especially Texas football. Keith is survived by Martha, their son, Clark (Sina), and two grandsons. Doug Bradley '70 entered Chapter Eternal on July 22, 2023, in Houston following a lengthy battle with cancer. Doug is survived by his wife, Beverly (ADPi, Little Sister of the Shield and Diamond and sister of Pike Lindsay Thompson '68), and two children, Will and Anna. As David Cordell '70 relates, "Beverly was steadfast in supporting Doug during his battle with cancer. Four years ago, he was given 1-6 months to live, but he was too headstrong to accept the forecast. She was with him every step of the way." A number of Pikes attended the celebration where eulogies were given by Doug's children, which included plenty of uplifting humor to honor their dad. William R. Thomas '75 entered Chapter Eternal on December 13, 2021, in London at the age of 65. Born on January 15, 1956, in Fort Bragg, N.C., Bill was raised and educated in Houston, Germany and Australia. He graduated high school from the Marine Military Academy in Harlingen, Texas, and received a BA in economics from The University of Texas at Austin. In May 1983, Bill married Laura Frances Griswold, beginning a life partnership that spanned 38 years and was enriched by their three children, Matthew, Katherine, and Sarah. Bill had over 30 years of experience in the international energy industry, including roles in West Texas, Australia and Brazil. He traveled extensively and was passionate about unique opportunities. Some of his fondest adventures were trips to Myanmar, Vietnam, Ethiopia and Patagonia. Bill was an enthusiastic golfer, skier and hiker who enjoyed sharing activities with family, friends and his faithful Labrador, Lily. Brian A. Buongiorno '78 entered Chapter Eternal on October 22, 2022. Brian excelled in music and was the young drummer for The Years when they had hit singles "Reflections of a Smile" and "Mushroom Tea." As a precision drummer in UT's Show Band of the Southwest, Brian performed at the inauguration of Ronald Regan. After graduating, he worked as the producer and editor for Austin City Limits at Third Coast Video. This led to a thrilling career in visual effects, working on commercials, feature films and iconic music videos. Brian foresaw a digital world long before it became the industry standard and worked on several award-winning marketing campaigns. But Brian's professional accomplishments never captivated him as much as his greatest love: family. Brian's three children each followed different paths into his industry, and each pursued their love of performing live music. Brian also had a passion for motorcycling and yoga, the latter of which helped him greatly to survive the pandemic. Brant Bousquet '84 entered Chapter Eternal on March 28, 2022, after suffering a fatal mycotic brain aneurysm. Brant is survived by his wife, Virginia, and two sons, Robert and Paul. Brant, with Virginia alongside, dedicated his life and career to helping others, first spending 14 years in the Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru) program at Vanderbilt University followed by nonprofit leadership work in Tennessee in housing and economic development. At the time of his death, he was serving as a development officer for Battleground Academy private school in Franklin, Tenn. Brant and Virginia celebrated their 30th year of marriage in 2021. It is not surprising that Brant was an organ donor and will continue to help and benefit others. Brant was a dedicated and enthusiastic Beta Mu Pike alumnus, supporting our recent house campaign and new alumni association as a charter member. He enthusiastically commented on the Pike alumni Instagram page a week before his death, welcoming Beta Mu's spring new member class. As his pledge brother Van Beckwith '84 shared in a note to their pledge class, "Brant was a man of extraordinary impact. He loved Texas and Texas Pike."
