SWEET POTATO CASSEROLE Rea Bridges 3 cups sweet potatoes, mashed ½ tsp. salt ½ cup melted butter or margarine 1 tsp. vanilla 1 ½ cups sugar 2 eggs, beaten ½ cup Carnation milk Combine the above and pour into 9x13 greased baking dish. TOPPING 1 cup light brown sugar 1/3 cup flour ½ stick butter or margarine 1 cup chopped nuts Cook 45 minutes at 350 de- grees. SMOTHERED PORK CHOPS Flo Blanton 6 pork chops, placed in shallow baking dish Combine: ½ cup apple jelly ½ cup soy sauce ¼ cup catsup 1 garlic clove, minced Pour sauce over chops, cover, and bake at 350 de- grees for 50 minutes. Combine: 1 Tbsp. cornstarch ¼ cup water Pour over chops for gravy and bake 15 minutes longer. MICROWAVING? Micro- wave 30-35 minutes at me- dium setting. Rotate dish ½ turn after 18 minutes. BLUEBERRY DUMP CAKE Virginia Coon 2 pints blueberries ¾ cup sugar 1 box white cake mix 1 cup chopped nuts 1 stick butter or margarine, melted Pack blueberries in an ob- long, about 7 by 12-inch casserole. Add sugar, then sprinkle dry cake mix over blueberries. Sprinkle chopped nuts over cake mix then pour melted butter over the whole thing. Place in 325-degree oven and bake 1 hour. GOLF BALLS Gail Hutchins 1 stick butter 1 pkg. chopped dates 8 oz. 1 small can coconut 1 cup brown sugar 1 6-ounce pkg. pecans 2 cups Rice Krispies Melt butter and sugar and cook 5 minutes. Add dates and cook 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Add pecans, co- conut, and Rice Krispies. Form into balls and roll in powdered sugar.
