In year 11, he'll rely on transfer quarterback Devin Leary to uphold that tradition, if not take it a step further. Leary lit up the ACC for 3,433 yards and 35 touchdowns in 2021 for North Carolina State. He was the ACC preseason player of the year in 2022 but suffered a season-ending injury after six weeks. The defense should be led by veteran linebacker D'Eryk Jackson who led the team with 67 tackles last season. Stoops landed some of the most sought-after transfers including Leary, running back Ray Davis, and cornerback JQ Hardaway. All three of those guys figure to be instant- impact players given their production at former schools. Davis ran for 129 yards and a touchdown in Vanderbilt's win against Kentucky in 2022. Notable Additions: QB Devin Leary (NC State), RB Ray Davis (Vanderbilt), CB JQ Hardaway (Cincinnati), OL Tanner Bowles (Alabama), DL Keeshawn Silver (UNC) Notable Losses: QB Will Levis (NFL), RB Christopher Rodriguez Jr. (NFL), OL Kiyaunta Goodwin (Florida), DL Justin Rogers (Auburn) Kentucky Schedule · vs Ball State (Sept. 2) · vs Eastern Kentucky (Sept. 9) · vs Akron (Sept. 16) · at Vanderbilt (Sept. 23) · vs Florida (Sept. 30) · at Georgia (Oct. 7) · vs Missouri (Oct. 14) · vs Tennessee (Oct. 28) · at Mississippi State (Nov. 4) · vs Alabama (Nov. 11) · at South Carolina (Nov. 18) · at Louisville (Nov. 25) LSU The Tigers have to feel comfortable going into Brian Kelly's second year with Jayden Daniels running the offense. The senior quarterback starred in 2022 recording nearly 4,000 yards of total offense and 28 touchdowns. Malik Nabers, Daniel's favorite target, will headline a deep receiving corps that includes Alabama transfer Aaron Anderson. Sophomore linebacker Harold Perkins is the cornerstone of the Tigers' fierce front seven. He recorded 72 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks in his inaugural year in the SEC. Kelly has excelled in the recruiting department throughout his time in Baton Rouge. LSU hauled in the fifth-ranked high school recruiting class and the second-best transfer class in the country. The secondary has been revamped with four cornerback transfers, including former five-star Denver Harris. Notable Additions: WR Aaron Anderson (Alabama), CB Denver Harris (Texas A&M), DL Paris Shand (Arizona), CB Zy Alexander (Southeastern Louisiana) Notable Losses: LB Micah Baskerville (NFL), LB BJ Ojulari (NFL), WR Kayson Boutte (NFL), QB Walker Howard (Ole Miss) LSU Schedule · vs Florida State (Sept. 3) · vs Grambling State (Sept.9) · at Mississippi State (Sept. 16) · vs Arkansas (Sept. 23) · at Ole Miss (Sept. 30) · at Missouri (Oct. 7) · vs Auburn (Oct. 14) · vs Army (Oct. 21) · at Alabama (Nov. 4) · vs Florida (Nov. 11) · vs Georgia State (Nov. 18) · vs Texas A&M (Nov. 25) MISSISSIPPI STATE Zach Arnett is the new head coach of the Bulldogs following the tragic passing of Mike Leach in December. He served as the defensive coordinator on Leach's staff and is expected to stabilize the program during the unprecedented time. The Bulldogs have the luxury of deploying one of the SEC's most experienced and prolific quarterbacks. Senior Will Rogers has thrown 71 touchdowns over the past two seasons. Mississippi State has faced some of the most attrition of any program in the SEC. The departures of Rara Thomas, Rufus Harvey, and Dillon Johnson leave a void of 145 receptions to be filled from last season. See SEC, Page 28
