Happy Back to School time!
September is the month we celebrate the
U.S. Constitution on Constitution Day
which will be on September 17, 2023.
The United States Constitution is the
supreme law of the country. It has
guided and helped our country survive
for more than 200 years.
Constitution Day is a good
time to learn more about
this important document.
One of the freedoms protected
by the Constitution is the
Freedom of the Press.
Thomas Jefferson, one of our founding
fathers said that this was one of the most
important parts of the constitution,
because a free press is what makes a
democracy work. One of the famous
journalists of our county (and one of my
favorites!) was Nellie Bly, and you can
read about her on page 7!
This month, think about the
freedoms you enjoy because of
the U.S. Constitution! Talk
about it with your family and
friends. It is something to be
proud about!
