(the House Corporation), I'm writing to provide some exciting updates concerning the House Corporation and our fraternity house at 1210 E. 3rd Street. The House Corporation had its annual meeting on April 29. This meeting was open to all members of Alpha-Omicron Zeta and was the first annual meeting of the members in many years. Members of the Board of Directors were duly elected at the meeting. Dustin Hall '12 and Ryan Thie '14 were installed as new members. Dustin and Ryan spent time together as undergraduate brothers during the early 2010s—Dustin was a member of the bike team and Ryan served as house manager. Our board now consists of a range of graduates from 1971 to 2020 with professional experience in accounting, law, finance, real estate, construction, science, and medicine. Following the annual meeting, the board adopted new and simplified bylaws to clarify processes and streamline governance. The BOD has further determined to open the fraternity house to live-in members commencing fall 2023. The fraternity house is expected to be home to 25 undergraduate brothers in late August. In anticipation of housing live-in members, the board approved a new live-in member agreement (as well as an access agreement for live-out members), submitted a housing occupation plan to the university per its requirements (which was subsequently approved), hired an experienced individual to serve as the live-in advisor and head chef of the chapter, refinanced the expiring mortgage loan to provide additional working capital, and determined to renovate and ready the physical structure of the fraternity house for live-in members. Renovations included mold remediation throughout the house, the installation of new flooring and ceiling tiles on the second and third floors, painting the second and third floors, installing new air conditioning units in rooms, installing support beams for the first floor, and other renovations. Ongoing projects include drywall replacement in the boiler room staircase and the conversion of the president's office to a live-in advisor suite. We could not be more excited to once again house undergraduate members this fall! We'll keep you appraised as we progress through the first semester.
