Technically the second half of the Jay Hernandez-star- ring reboot's fifth season, which NBC decided to split in two when it picked up the show after CBS' cancellation of it, it is slated to begin at midseason after the completion of "Sunday Night Football" (as was the case this past winter). The filming was done as if the series was making the complete season at once, per tradition, and the writers' strike – which has led to delays in the making of other shows – may necessitate a need for the new "Magnum" episodes (which already have been filmed) sooner when the 2023-24 television season begins.
