"I am so thankful for all the Mu Mu brothers who formed the fraternity, caused the house at 700 N. High Street to be built, and have kept the chapter going all these years," he said. "Some alumni have gone far and beyond their call of duty. As alumni, we all have the duty and responsibility to contribute." In his career, Paul is the leader of his own brotherhood at Badger Lumber Company. A lawyer licensed in West Virginia and Ohio, he made a career change in 1991 and bought the company and became its president. While being in the lumber business is difficult because of the competition, Badger Lumber has been successful, and during Paul's 32-year presidency, the company has added stores in Logan, West Virginia, and Belpre, Ohio. Last year, the company celebrated its 100th anniversary. "I have been very blessed to have knowledgeable, skilled, hardworking employees," he shared. Paul's parents, Jean and Buddy, are 88 years old and reside in Logan. His oldest son, Chip, is a lawyer and trust officer for United Bank in Parkersburg. He and his wife, Pam, have two children, Amelia (5) and Logan (20 months). Paul's middle child, Clark, is a CPA and also works for United Bank in Parkersburg. His youngest, Emily, works for Deloitte out of Chicago. When he's not working, Paul enjoys staying connected to Sigma Chi. He participated in both the 100th and 125th Mu Mu anniversaries socializing and golfing with the brothers. He is the president of the Parkersburg Sigma Chi Alumni Chapter and loves gathering monthly with the local brothers. He is also an active member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, serving as its treasurer and elder. Additionally, he is a member of the Parkersburg Rotary Club, a business organization that believes in "putting service above self." In his free time, he also enjoys walking, golfing, cooking, playing with his grandkids, and cheering on the Mountaineers. "People wonder why I smile a lot, and many call me 'Smiley.' The reason is very simple. I've been very blessed!" You can connect with Paul at badgerlumber@suddenlinkmail.com. Proud to Be a Sigma Chi (Continued from page 1)
