r e d f c u.o r g | 3 Redstone's Miller Is Volunteer of the Year Redstone Board of Directors Member Charlie Miller was named Volunteer of the Year in Alabama by the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates at its June conference. Miller, a retired Army veteran, is First Vice- Chair of Redstone's board and has served as a board volunteer for 36 years. He retired from the U.S. Army with over 30 years of service. In 2000, he was inducted into the U.S. Army Ordnance Hall of Fame and was recognized for making a positive and significant contribution to the Ordnance Corps. In 2020, he received the Drolet Service to Veterans Award for his hands-on support of veterans in the North Alabama community, such as serving on the Rose of Sharon Soup Kitchen Board, which feeds many homeless veterans. Miller's mission to help active duty military personnel and civilian employees of the defense industry achieve financial prosperity continues to guide his work on the board. He is also the founding member of Huntsville Chapter 1067 of the Vietnam Veterans of America. In 2016, Miller received the Veteran of the Year Award from the Alabama State Council. In 2023, his chapter earned an award from the National Vietnam Veterans of America for being the state's largest chapter. Hempstead is Vice President of Finance and Treasurer of IronMountain Solutions, a technology solutions company located in Huntsville. He serves as a member of both the Supervisory Committee and Asset Liability Committee at Redstone. He also previously served on the Member Connections Committee. Dave Hargrove, Chairman of the Board of Directors, welcomed Hempstead to the volunteer board and looks forward to working with him to continue to serve Redstone's members and the broader community. "Rick is a certified public accountant who brings more than 30 years of accounting and finance experience to the board. In addition, he desires to serve others and has a long history of giving back to his community," Hargrove said. Redstone Welcomes New Board Member Rick Hempstead has joined Redstone's Board of Directors.
