These members put all their energy into supporting their sisters and their chapter while in college. There is never a shortage of activities to participate in! Then, upon graduation, Pi Phi women are encouraged to "give back." But what does that mean? Many join a local alumnae club, but the interaction there is primarily with other alumnae. There are fundraising events to benefit programs supported by Pi Beta Phi Foundation, but how can you really be hands-on with your giving? The Alumnae Advisory Committee (AAC) is an important aspect of every Pi Beta Phi chapter. AAC members can be mentors, sounding boards, resources and, of course, Advisors throughout an Executive Council member's time in office. Each officer has an AAC counterpart, there to offer support, advice and helpful feedback. An AAC member gives the chapter officers someone to look to when they are planning events, implementing changes within the chapter and remaining compliant with Fraternity guidelines. As a dear friend of mine said recently, "I serve on AAC to support the young women who serve as officers of the chapter. My goal is to guide them as leaders." At Texas Eta, we are fortunate to support top-notch leaders, who remind us of the strength of the young women Pi Beta Phi develops and attracts.
