Texas A&M University PAGE 3 O ver the past year, our chapter has accomplished great things in terms of philanthropic service, sisterhood and so much more. Here at Texas A&M, we like to say, "Aggies first, Greek second," and these women continue to display not only the A&M values in their everyday lives, but also the core values of Pi Beta Phi. We have about 300 collegiate members, and each one has invested in the community around them. Our members are involved in over 80 different organizations on campus, and several hold leadership positions. One such leader is Rachel Sedita '21, who is a PAID Career Fair officer, helping coordinate and organize one of the largest career fairs on campus. For years, we have served the Boys and Girls Club of Brazos Valley and have helped to make a direct impact on their organization just as they have impacted the women within ours. In 2022, we expanded our philanthropic efforts to the Boys and Girls Club of Caldwell, a community just outside our own. The women of Texas Eta Chapter have volunteered 2,000 hours a semester, raising about $45,000 this academic year for both clubs! Our two Howdy Chairmen this past fall, Jayci Edwards '19 and Chloe Cavaretta '19, utilized some of the funds to donate a book vending machine to the Boys and Girls Club of Brazos Valley; kids can insert a token in trade for a book to read and take home. In the classroom and chapter house, our sisters excel and push one another to be better each day. In 2022, Sarah King '19 proudly accepted the College Panhellenic Council Chapter of the Year award on behalf of Texas Eta. In 2023, we had the second-highest chapter GPA out of all fraternities and sororities (58 organizations) on campus with 3.58. Not only have our achievements been highlighted on campus, but on a national level as well. From 2021 to the present, Pi Beta Phi Foundation has named us one of the Top 10 Giving Chapters. In 2019, we had the honor of being named the Top Giving Pi Phi Chapter and we strive to reach the top again. Pi Phi has opened more opportunities for me than I could have ever imagined. As a PNM, I never would have believed I could step into a role like this one. The consistent support and encouragement that I have received from my sisters has allowed me to become a better version of myself. Their willingness to serve their community and their own sisters is the legacy that I want to continue within this chapter. Being a Pi Phi is so much more than the promises we make as sisters. It's about serving the community around us, serving each other and being a part of something greater than yourself. I hope you all catch a glimpse of that in this newsletter.
