\\\\\\\\\\\\ Alumni Update \\\\\\\\\\\\ CHAPTER ETERNAL Robert Johnson '52 was a retired senior electrical facility en- gineer with Delco Products Corporation. Robert Sutton '58 served in the US Army, and worked as a Transmission Engineer for 30 years with Public Service, Indiana. He was a member of the Danville Jaycees and devot- ed many hours to the Danville Volunteer Fire Department from 1969 until his retirement, as Assistant Fire Chief, in 1990. Bob participated in a number of mission trips to build churches in the US and Mexico as a member of Danville United Methodist Church and Big Bend United Methodist Church. After moving to Florida, he joined the Apollo Beach Power Squadron working with safety training for the boating community. Joseph Bronnert '59 served in the US Army and then was employed by Public Service Co. of Indiana until he retired. He was active member of the Sierra Club, St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Columbus American Legion and Columbus Moose. Joe was a very kind person and never met a stranger. David Arthur Jonas '68 passed after a 15 year valiant fight with Parkinson's. He is sur- vived by his wife, Dee Jonas, his five children and 10 grandchildren. Dave was dedicated to his faith, family, and friends and to his career as an engineer for Caterpillar. Dave's uncanny ability to turn lemons into lemonade is one of the many things for which he will be remembered. Dave donated his body to science for Parkinson's Research. Terry Nelson '72 worked for Chevron Overseas Petroleum, Inc., GATX, and Saudi Aramco. His career took him far and wide, with moves to California, Texas, Oregon, the UK, South Africa, Angola, Kazakhstan, and Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. He was a life- long tennis player and fan, a world traveler and a skilled bridge player. Harry Flotemersch '84 worked for Delphi Automotive, Chrysler, BAE Systems, Shainin Consulting, and TE Connectivity. Harry en- joyed mountain biking, windsurfing, and making music with his band, the Woodstove Hooters. Save The Date: RHIT Homecoming 2023 September 29—October 1 Distinguished Young Alumni Winner Spencer Bohlander '13 was recognized by Rose- Hulman in March 2023 with its Distinguished Young Alumni Award. Upon graduation, Spencer began his career as a deepwater drilling engineer for Apache Cor- poration in South America. He advanced to lead drill- ing supervisor on the first Alpine High exploration drilling rig in Texas's Permian Basin. Spencer then took a position with Moblize developing software applica- tions, leading a development team in the creation of a drilling analytics platform which now exceeds a 15% market share of North Amer- ican drilling rigs. Spencer returned to Apache Corpora- tion to develop a similar soft- ware product, and for two years he led drilling teams in North America, the North Sea, and Egypt. Following his second stint at Apache, Spencer co-founded Icarus Technologies; one of the other co-founders is his wife Jennifer Bohlander -- a fellow Rose-Hulman graduate. Icarus patented and developed the first high-output, closed loop, geother- mal power generation system. Spencer serves as a Drilling Subject Matter Expert with Dixon Direction- al. Spencer and Jennifer live with their two young children in the Carmel, Indiana.
