In addition to writing Streams of Gold, Jillian creates Kintsugi-inspired pottery and jewelry and hosts workshops in which participants break and restore pottery using Kintsugi-inspired methods. These relate to themes from her book. "Kintsugi is the artful repair of broken items, utilizing gold within the restoration process which highlights, rather than hides, imperfections and brokenness," she explained. "It restores what may have been otherwise discarded, and the intricate golden design adds visual interest." Jillian is also the co-founder of "Write at the Table," a compilation of writing experiences to inspire the writer within us all. She is currently writing a second book, Gold & Clay: Exploring the Pieces of Your Own Story, which will be released in the upcoming months. Jillian has been married to her husband, Travis, for 15 years. They have one son and two daughters, ages 4-9, and live in Louisville, Kentucky. Jillian loves spending time with friends and family and, in addition to writing, she enjoys reading, traveling, and all things creative. "I enjoy taking walks to brainstorm creative possibilities and keep the faucet flowing on writing ideas," she shared. You can connect with Jillian at streamsofgoldmemoir@gmail.com, on Instagram at @streamsofgoldmemoir, or on Facebook. Streams of Gold is available on Amazon and in select local bookstores around the Louisville area. You can learn more and/or book her for speaking events at streams-of-gold-memoir. square.site. Putting Together the Pieces (Continued from page 1) Hear Why They Chose Kappa Wise Words from Jillian Wise Words from Jillian "If I can offer encouragement, it would be to try new things. It is easy to assume we know ourselves well, especially the older we get, but we can surprise ourselves when we get curious and take a risk by trying something unexpected." Who Should Be Next?
