It has been three years of absence for the wonderful oppor- tunity for our kiddos. There is no cost, as our local Red Kettle Cam- paign funds are applied for these sponsorships. Discovery Campers will enjoy such activities as climbing tower, ar- chery, group games, cabin life, arts and crafts, and fun evening pro- grams. They will meet new friends, experience nature, and challenge themselves. The application registration process will need to be completed online, and I can help with that process. Registration will open April 17th. Call with any questions and we can work through the process together. Dates for Discovery Camp 1 are June 19-23 and possibly Discovery Camp 2 July 3-7. I have also asked for two slots be held for July 15-22 for Quartzsite youth, ages 8-16, with a strong interest in Music. We are now on our Summer Hours. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thurs- day, 8AM to Noon. Urgent needs always with a phone call. Donations when open or with other arrange- ments. PLEASE DO NOT leave items after hours. HELP REQUEST…Do you have a music interest and would like to or- ganize our music CD's? They need categorization by genre. Like to work outside??? Our parking lot timbers need resetting. I do have some heavy flat hose that could be staked to delineate parking slots. If anyone knows where we can get railroad rails or timbers, please let me know. If interested, please come see me or call. Thanks ~ Please understand that our building has no windows, no air exchange ventilation, our aisles are tight, and we have many senior volunteers with health concerns, so we will con- tinue to require a face covering, for both us and our amazing shoppers. We will follow the local health de- partment recommendation; "when indoors wear a mask". We appreci- ate your understanding. JUNE 14 TH for June 21 st edition Desert Messenger News Email: editor@DesertMessenger.com 928-916-4235 www.DesertMessenger.com Provide Value and Feel Valuable The first and best way to improve your feelings of worthiness is simply to provide value to others; be kind to others as well as to your future self. Be of service, which means provid- ing value with no expectations of receiving anything in return. It con- tains the requirement that you give unconditionally. Giving not only makes you feel good, but this altruistic act is contagious. Giving makes you happy, makes the person who receives happy, and even those who witness giving be- come happier. A study tracking 2,000 people over a five-year period, found that those who described themselves as "very happy" were the ones who volun- teered 5.8 hours per month, on av- erage. Providing value for others made those individuals feel valu- able themselves. Your donation makes a difference. We are a privately owned nonprofit, we have to raise all our funds we need to operate.
