Page 3 Beta Alpha displays the Delta Tau Delta flag! A fter more than five years without Delts living in our Shelter, house corporation officers, volunteer alumni, and undergraduate officers met with university officials in November for approval to occupy the Shelter during the 2023-24 school year (and beyond). Initially, it was recommended that we wait until the next school year to move back in. The undergraduate officers gave compelling reasons why we should occupy the Shelter, and the university agreed. The undergraduates are eager to move in, and we alumni are working to ensure a seamless transition. With the 32 new members signed during the January recruiting season, we are expecting more than 60 live-ins this fall. A s soon as finals are over, the colony is submitting a petition to the Arch Chapter to be reinstalled as a chapter. The only thing standing in the way could have been recruiting new members on their own. Fortunately, spring recruiting saw the colony add 32 new members to the rolls. The Road from Colony to Chapter Rechartering Expected This Fall—Get Ready! The colony has accomplished all these requirements and is operating very effectively. University rooms available for Fraternity ceremonies do not allow lighted candles, so we hope to hold the initiation ceremony in the Shelter. Pending approval by the Arch Chapter, we expect to regain our charter the week before classes start in August, or the first non-home football weekend, September 30. There is typically a banquet after a chapter installation; ideally, this will be at the Union. We hope many alumni can attend and welcome our new Brothers! Pending approval by the Arch Chapter, we hope to have the rechartering celebration on the first non-football weekend this fall, the weekend of September 30. Moving Delts into the Shelter Moving Delts into the Shelter The chartering standards state: ☑ The colony's GPA must be 2.75 with half of the members above 2.5. ☑ We cannot owe any money to Central Office. ☑ All members should be up to date on their due payments. ☑ Written bylaws must be accepted by the Arch Chapter. ☑ We must have a written new member education program lasting no more than six weeks. (Six weeks is an IU-required maximum.) ☑ Our budget must be approved by Central Office.
