THE TOMAHAWK Alpha Mu Chapter 4 S till riding the high of the 100-year celebration, the chapter's spirits are soaring Numerous alumni were in attendance and the long-lasting impact of the chapter was evident Hearing the stories of those in the chapter before us was not only entertaining, but it also inspired us to further commit ourselves to improve our beloved fraternity. I am proud to report we are finally out of the "growing pains" era that the pandemic caused and making leaps and bounds toward bettering our chapter and community This semester, Theta Chi has once again been dignified as a "Big House" by the interfraternity council, meaning we are among the top 15 fraternities on campus in membership and in outreach to the other houses in the community Thanks to the recruitment efforts of Kode Banwart '24, we have nearly 60 active members, and for the first time during my years on campus, we will have reached the maximum capacity of the house Our spring class is six men strong, a record in recent years Come fall, we believe everything is in order for us to have nearly 80 members It's astonishing that only a few years ago this chapter was under 30; that seems almost impossible today Our membership not only grows in number, but in quality as well Our new Marshal, Tyler Maral '26, has reorganized the new member education process so it is focused on not only creating bonds between future brothers, but also what it means to be a gentleman and character development Additionally, we now have three members recognized as Resolute Men by the Grand Chapter and two more that have been accepted to join alumni on the experience track toward obtaining that status It is my belief that by this time next year, at least 25% of our chapter will have this recognition We are increasingly involved on campus as well We have multiple members leading clubs and organizations outside this chapter Our members write for the school newspaper, manage sports teams, and one even has the privilege of being our beloved mascot, CY Coming up soon, we have one of the largest events Theta Chi has hosted among the Greek community, planned by our previous Vice President of Health and Safety, Kode He has organized a cross-community men's mental health event with many confirmed attendees from the fraternity community This event will feature a speaker talking about mental health in today's society, specifically from the fraternity man's perspective To conclude, the chapter is in a fantastic position, and I believe it will only continue to grow and get better as the years progress Our executive team has a lot of goals and a vision for the chapter, and I look forward to helping bring it to light as president Fraternally, Caleb T.
