n May 16 every year, we celebrate U.S. National Barbecue Day to
remind ourselves of the delicious foods we're blessed to have
access to. How are you preparing for the day? I just returned from
Kent, Washington, and I can tell you that Tri State Distributors are ready.
Tri State held a wonderful dealers-only event on April 6-7 that brought
hundreds from an 11-state area. Called the TSD BBQ & Outdoor Smokeshow,
it drew 18 manufacturers to show their products, cook up large quantities of
food, and give away over $50,000 in prizes.
Normal for the region, it was all held in the rain, but that didn't stop anyone
from having a great time. With tents in place and BBQs hot, there were a ton
of opportunities for business and play. Furrion brought some of their outdoor
TVs and helped create a Masters Golf Tournament watch party in the main
tent, along with Tri State who set up a great golf simulator so guests could
compete in a closest-to-the-pin contest.
Manufacturers participating included American Frye Designs, AOG,
Astria Fireplaces, Avanti, Blaze, Broan, Broil King, Bromic, Fire Magic,
Furrion, Majestic, Montigo Fireplaces, Outdoor Lifestyles, Primo, TRU
Innovative Outdoor, U-Line, Weber, and WPPO.
The product offerings were amazing, both for the retailers and some
invited builders. With the special offers and display discounts, everyone
went away a winner.
