This kitchen's original layout cramped the
homeowner's work and traffic flow. Radically
re-orienting the kitchen space gave the
homeowners ample prep and cooking areas
while also opening up the flow into the living
and dining rooms. The large three-sided
island created the space needed for the
extended family. Warm luxury vinyl plank
flooring, along with pendant and recessed
lighting, keeps the kitchen bright, to the
delight of the clients.

Although recently updated, these
homeowners felt their existing kitchen's older
features did not meld well with the adjacent
dining room. Replacing dated items, including a
peninsula, and adding a center island and
painted cabinetry helped bring the space a
bright, inviting and open feeling. Light wood-
colored flooring complemented the range
hood, and whimsical pendant lights brightened
the corner area. A sea glass-colored ceramic
backsplash and a yellow retro refrigerator were
the perfect finishing touches for these happy
homeowners.
