P
si Chapter is proud to have wrapped up a successful capital
campaign last fall. We are so grateful for all the invaluable
support we received from generous alumnae and encourage all
our contributors to continue your support by staying up to date on
pledges. We are filled with excitement when we look ahead to what's
in store for the next generation.
Psi Chapter's future is bright!
CHILI COOKOFF
On September 26, we hosted our annual chili cookoff, which raised
$7,490 to donate to the United Way of Norman, Ohio. This fundraiser
was started in 1988 by our chairman, Tiffany Williams '87. This
year, it was held the first night of initiation week for labor night. We
were pleased to have 10 teams join us for our cookoff to showcase
their chili. This event is a vital part of labor night during initiation
week, and we appreciate your continued support.
SERVICE AND INVOLVEMENT
We're happy to report that alumnae and active members continue
to serve in the community. We currently have two actives assisting
Sarah Whipps Smith '00 with Girls on the Run at Monroe
Elementary. There was a great turnout this year with 22 third through
fifth graders. For 12 weeks, the actives dedicate their time to Monroe
and help lead our chats, games, and twice-weekly activities. They
will also run a 5K with the students in May.
ORDER OF 1874
Psi Chapter is honored to announce our attainment of the Order of
1874 on the Order of the Crescent for the 2022 calendar year. This
achievement demonstrates that Psi exceeds expectations in most
areas of chapter life, met all of Gamma Phi Beta's key performance
indicators, and was in good standing in 2022. The Order of 1874
distinction is one of the highest accolades few collegiate chapters
attain, and we are beyond proud of the accomplishment.
