Which years was he on that show? – Ken Steele, via email A: He was on the legendary NBC program from 1990 to 1995, first as a writer and then as a featured player. Characters such as Opera Man (which Idina Menzel channeled on that recent Mark Twain Prize special on CNN) and other contributions including "The Chanukah Song" made him an audience favorite. Sandler maintains that he was fired from the show, just as his mov- ie work was starting to gain traction with "Billy Madison." When he returned to "SNL" in 1999 as a guest host, he didn't fail to rub it in about his alleged firing, noting how much his films had grossed (translation: a lot) in the time since he had left. Q: Will "Press Your Luck" be back? – Judy Sim- mons, via email A: It will. Elizabeth Banks will return as host (and an executive producer) of the ABC game-show revival for a fifth season starting June 29. She'll tackle that again after directing a recent hit movie, "Cocaine Bear," and she also has other projects in the works including "Bedrock," an animated Fox sequel to "The Flintstones" for which she'll supply the voice of the adult Pebbles. Banks will be an executive producer on that show, which currently is at the pilot stage. Adam Sandler Send questions of general interest via email to tvpipeline@gracenote.com.
