Notify QPD By Lynn Stimson The Walk in the Past was held Sat- urday, March 4, 2023 at Hi Jolly Cemetery. This annual event was started by Denise Ross [on October 29, 2011 as part of the Arizona Cen- tennial of Quartzsite celebration.] It was originally called a Spirit Walk. Some of the players felt it needed a different name. So "Walk in the Past" has become the Quartzsite Historical Society's signature Event. Joanne Winer took over as direc- tor and kept the pageant going and then Mary Weatherby stepped up to help. This event could not be possi- ble without all the volunteers every year. History is fun and knowing about how pioneers of Quartzsite stayed and didn't give up on our little town. This year, the Historical Society received a grant to help with expenses and keep the event free to the public. Thank you to everyone who came to our pageant. Thank you to the members of the Quartzsite Histori- cal Society and all of our supportive volunteers: WELCOME LADIES—Kay Moor- ing, Marilyn McFate and Maggie Moody.
