4090 News SPRING 2023 PHI MU AT LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY REUNIONS, RENOVATIONS, REALLY EXCITING TIMES Looking to Alpha Eta's Future Recapping Reunion Weekend ank you to the alumnae who were able to join us this past November. From Friday's Sunset Club at Fred's to Saturday morning's Coffee in the Courtyard to Sunday Brunch at the Phi Mu House, alumnae reconnected, laughed, and toured the house that we all call home! One of the most popular stops on the tour (which was led by current AHs) was the newly installed HistoryIT digitized composite screen. Users were able to pull up all four years of their composite photos on one screen and relive hairstyles, make-up tricks, and fashions from the "good ol' days!" To access this technology from your home, please see page 5. Save the date Fall 2023 Reunion – September 22-23, 2023 Mark your calendars and plan your return to 4090 W. Lakeshore Drive. With more time for planning, we hope to see more of you this fall. If you are interested in joining the Reunion Weekend Planning Committee, please contact Reunion Chairwoman, Monique Plaisance Camouche '89 at moniquecarmouche@gmail.com or (225) 229-9269. Tentative plans include a Friday-night couples cocktail party and family game day at the house. Some thingS change … Some thingS Stay the Same Our recent reunion reminded us that some things are only a snapshot in time. Today, sisters work to straighten their hair for composites instead of making it as tall as can be. Pantyhose and pumps on game days have now given way to shorts and cowboys boots. e date room no longer has a landline phone. Chapter size is over 315 members instead of the 200 it was when I pledged in 1986. We were also reminded that some things will always remain at Phi Mu. e excitement of seeing a sister you haven't seen in a while. Dinner served in the dining room with the housemother at the head table leading the Phi Mu prayer. e peacefulness of swinging on the front porch or chilling in the courtyard. e love shared between the collegiate members who gave tours of the house. WheRe do We go FRom heRe? While the special feelings shared inside 4090 W. Lakeshore Drive have not changed, the physical structure needs to undergo a few changes to accommodate today's Chapter and today's times. Walking down the row, you see two brand-new sorority houses, one undergoing a complete renovation, and a couple others that have had major facelis in the past couple years. Stay tuned in the coming months for the exciting news concerning Alpha Eta's plans for the future of our home at 4090!
