3 O ur chapter has remained plenty busy in the fall and spring. Here's a quick recap of our recent events and activities. STUDYING HARD Academics have been on the rise this spring, improving significantly since last semester. Scholarship Chairman Andrew Archer '21 noted: "I am happy to report that our members have been performing exceptionally well in the spring 2023 semester, with a GPA of 3.46 as of midterms. This is a significant improvement from last semester's GPA of 3.11, which was lower than we would have liked. We have recognized this small slump as a chapter and have created a movement this semester to bounce back. I can confidently say we are achieving this goal. I'm excited for the rest of the semester; the future is looking bright." COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT Philanthropy involvement has been at a high level this semester. Philanthropy Chairman Leo Clennan '21 stated: "Our chapter has completed hundreds of hours of community service. We have helped multiple organizations, such as the Salvation Army, Restore Habitat for Humanity, local food pantries, and churches around the Manhattan area. We plan on raising thousands of dollars this spring for our national philanthropy, the Huntsman's Foundation. Our goal is to beat our chapter record of roughly $30,000." RECRUITMENT EFFORTS We are excited to see that demand to join our chapter is very high. With the spring semester moving along, Recruitment Chairman Alex Gibbons '21 stated: "We are actively recruiting the fall '23 class, and it is going very well. Recruitment Chairmen Cade Scherzer '21, Corbin Panther '21, and I have learned great organizational and leadership skills so far during our term and are excited for the last couple months. With the pledge class about half full, our goal is to fill it by mid-summer, then work on integrating these young men into our brotherhood." MEMBER ACTIVITIES Our members have been quite involved on campus. Within Alpha Kappa Psi, the business fraternity, we have Wyatt Lindsey '20 serving as the president, Jake Keller '20 as the VP of sponsorship, and Sean Nicholson '20 as the VP of alumni, while Drake Reyes '22, Taye Retter '22, and Aidan Siefkes '20 are also active members. Alex Schirk '21 is an ambassador for the industrial engineering program and Jake Keller '20 is an ambassador for the sales program. Luke Hyland '21 and Ian Olsen '21 are on Kansas State's club rugby team. Our house has also been involved in intramurals. Intramural chairman Jason Smith '22 reported: "We have had a lot of fun competing in intramurals this past year. Most guys in the house have participated in at least one sport. Involvement in intramurals has led us to make new friends and improve our ability to work together. We will continue to succeed in sports going forward."
