alpha chi omega | page 6 M y name is Anna Perniciaro, and I serve as the chapter president in 2023. I am thrilled to share just a few of our many accomplishments from this past semester, and I cannot wait to see what else this year has in store for us! Academic Achievement Alpha Nu achieved a 3.46 cumulative GPA last semester! A total of 25 outstanding women finished the semester with a 4.0, and many more members made Dean's List. The women of Alpha Nu work so hard to maintain a high standard of academic excellence. They continue to learn from their sisters and challenge themselves every day, and I am so proud of them. Diversity and Inclusion Efforts This is Alpha Nu's third year with a vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion serving on our executive board, and we've seen an immense amount of growth in this. We recently celebrated MacDowell, Black History and Women's History Months with educational presentations, movie nights and events on campus, sharing resources and information. We will implement more educational programming and DEI-related activities this semester as we work to continuously improve our chapter. Philanthropic Efforts and Events April was filled with many events to support our beneficiary, True North of Columbia. Our events during These Hands Don't Hurt week included profit-sharing opportunities with local businesses, Denim Day and the Swishin' for a Mission basketball tournament. Last fall, we raised a total of $24,130, bringing us to a grand total of $52,721 raised for Columbia's local domestic violence shelter in 2022. We are so proud to host and participate in these events, raising money to support such a worthy cause. Greek Week and Rockin' Against Multiple Sclerosis Alpha Nu is thrilled to be paired with the men of Delta Upsilon for Greek Week 2023. This year's theme is Battle of the Bands. Our liaisons have been working diligently to provide us with the best possible experience, and we cannot wait to see the final product. In February, we participated in RAMS and placed third overall within our organizational category. We participated in the 5K and performed in the Rock-It lip sync competition. Our dancers and lip-syncers performed hits by Miley Cyrus. It was an amazing month of education about Multiple Sclerosis and hard work in fundraising and choreography; we are proud to have helped raise $200,700 for the Multiple Sclerosis Institute of Mid- Missouri. We are so grateful to our RAMS liaisons, Caroline Schultz '21 and Kaitlyn Davis '21, for leading our efforts. We Can't Wait to See You! It has been my pleasure to update you on all the accomplishments of Alpha Nu so far this semester. This chapter has given me so much, and it is an honor to serve as president. Thank you for your continuous support and love for Alpha Nu at Mizzou. Please never hesitate to come and see us at our wonderful home in Columbia. We cannot wait to update you again soon!
