There's nothing better than fair food. You'll find all your food faves at the Dogwood Festival. To start it all off, you'll want to get in on the Pancake Eating Contest, hosted by Kiwanis and IHOP! It takes place on Saturday, April 29 at 9:00 a.m. in front of the stage. Enter, or come check out who from our city can eat the most pancakes! Lindsey Taylor, coordinator of the Dogwood Festival, and Jerry Carsten of Carsten Con- cessions have made sure there are plenty of savory and sweet options for appetites of all ages. This isn't just your usual fair food (of course, you'll find lots of that too). The Dogwood Festival offers an eclectic collection of yummy eats. Everyone has those certain foods they dream about having all year, waiting for the festival's return. You'll find all your favorites, along with some new scrump- tious delights to try at the Dog- wood Festival. If funnel cakes are your thing, you'll find not only the traditional ones, but gourmet ones, too, like Oreo and s'mores. There's Cajun gator sausage, gator-on-a-stick, gyros and Philly cheese steak sandwiches. We'll have barbeque and gourmet mac and cheese, and a Dogwood staple, kettle corn. Take a refreshing break with a fresh lemonade or an ice-cold root beer and, of course, wrap it up with ice cream, slushies and more. Berrie Kabobs Always a hit with strawberry banana or strawberry brownie ka- bobs and cheesecake on a stick. Carsten Concessions Find your favorite festival food, like funnel cakes, cotton candy, lemonade, pineapple whip, corn dogs, and more. A&J Concessions Features mouth-watering Indian tacos and BBQ and their ev- er-popular smoked turkey legs. Gary's Concessions Check out their delicious pulled pork nachos.
