4 • 2023 Dogwood Festival 48th Dogwood Festival: Welcome to Siloam Springs and Lots of Fun! By Arthur Hulbert, President and CEO Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce Siloam Springs has so much to offer, not the least of which is the friendly people you will meet at our annual award-winning Dogwood Festival. The festival is scheduled each year for the last full weekend in April. This year, the festival will take place Friday, April 28, through Sunday, April 30. People have enjoyed the Dogwood Festival for years, and see it as a great opportunity to get outside and enjoy the warmer weather. At the festival you will find T-shirts boasting our 48th Annual Dogwood Festival design, as well as many items from our vendors, including gifts, jewelry, crafts, collectables, art, wood creations, and so much more. You will also have a variety of options for great food and fun for all ages. Below are a few suggestions for things to do while in Siloam Springs for the Dogwood Festival: • Visit the kayak park on the Illinois River, which is conveniently located four miles south of Siloam Springs on a paved road. Admission to the park is free and people of all ages are able to kayak, canoe and tube during daylight hours. • Head for the Sager Creek Mountain Bike Trail, which winds behind the John Brown University campus and includes five miles of varying difficulty level trails. • Go north of town to the City Lake area, where there are bike trails, a bird blind, bike park and a fishing dock that offers the opportunity to catch many different types of fish. • Visit Memorial Park, which features a splash pad, farmers market area, outdoor amphitheater, landscaped walking paths, a concession stand and an impressive fallen soldiers memorial. • Walk around our historic charming downtown that features quaint shops, restaurants, and a thriving hub of locally owned and operated businesses. • Visit our museum on Maxwell Street. • Stop by our information booth at the festival for a map of the festival attractions and the city, and to get your Dogwood Festival T-shirt. Plan to sit for a while and listen to the entertainment, we have several new, exciting musical groups coming this year. • Enjoy some great food in the festival food court, where you will find all those specialty foods that you can't find the rest of the year. Go ahead, it's only once a year! • Check out the Kenneth Gutierrez Fun Zone and enjoy the mechanical bull and rock wall, inflatables for the smaller kids, and so much more. If you need information or assistance, find one of our friendly helpers with "Volunteer" on the back of their T-shirt. This group of helpful, smiling individuals help plan and serve at our festival. We couldn't do it without them!
