18 • 2023 Dogwood Festival 3370 Hwy 412 E Siloam Springs, AR 72761 Mon-Thurs 9am-11pm • Fri-Sat 9am-12am It's tradition & it's hometown! 48th Annual Dogwood Festival Come see us when you're in town! 479-373-1365 Q & A with Lindsey Taylor Director of Community Development, Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce Dogwood Festival Coordinator Q: Tell us about your role as the Dogwood Festival Coordina- tor. Being the Dogwood Festival Coordinator is one of my favorite parts of my job at the Chamber. It's such an honor to work with our amazing committee and Chamber Staff to plan this event. We work year round on this event, and we look forward to it every year. There is a lot that goes into this role, including approving vendors, determining events, scheduling entertainment, and managing volunteers, but it's so much fun! The best part of being the Dogwood Festival Coordina- tor is when all the booths are set, the festival is going, and I get to watch the community come to- gether and embrace the vendors and the activities. I remember coming to the festival as a kid, and getting to help plan it and see a new generation of kids – including my own – and families enjoy the festival as much as I always have makes all the hard work worth it! Q: How long have you worked with the Chamber? I've been a Chamber volunteer for many years, as well as a past Chamber board member. I joined the Chamber staff in December 2020, and this will be 3rd year as Dogwood Festival Coordinator. Q: What's new at the Dog- wood Festival this year? Every year, there are always new food, fun zone, and vendor booths, which is exciting! This year, we are welcoming a cou- ple of new food trucks including Mad Mex, which will serve up Tex-Mex favorites, and Last Drop Coffee, serving hot and cold coffee drinks! We are also part- nering with an organization called SNAPS NWA to bring a portable selfie experience to the Dogwood Festival! This will take place in the Community Building during the Festival, and we're excited about this addition! This year, there will also be a new section of booths on Wright Street, between Park House and Crown Hotel. Be sure to check them out because there are some fantastic new vendors that you won't want to miss! Q: What's your personal con- nection with Siloam Springs? My family moved to Siloam Springs when I was five, so it's really the only home I've ever known. I grew up here, and grad- uated from Siloam Springs High School and John Brown Universi- ty. I met my husband here, I work here, I go to church here, and I
