Citizens of Gravette, 2023 is well underway and I am eager to continue the momentum of making Gravette an amazing place to live, work and play. City Hall and the police station have now been located on Main Street for an entire year. It is my belief that our offices complement the development happening downtown and it is encouraging to see continued investment in Main Street and the surrounding areas. By the end of the year, I expect to see additional buildings occupied and open to the public. Two additional sections of the walk-bike trail are currently under construction, and once complete will provide a connection point to the high school and Pop Allum Park. Both of these sections also connect back to the main trail loop which provides access to the schools, stores, banks, Main Street, and more. A northern trail connector is in the engineering phase and will link to Walnut Creek subdivision behind the high school. Our robust trail system provides school safety and recreational and fitness opportunities, but has also been shown to improve quality of life and positively impact home values. Gravette shines brightest during our hometown events, and I encourage you to attend them all. e fireworks show is one of the best around and can be viewed from many areas of town. e music is patriotic and the food is delicious. e late summer celebration of Gravette Day draws thousands to town as we enjoy live music, a parade, vendors, a 5k, art show, and much more. e Christmas Parade welcomes Mr. and Mrs. Claus to town among a sea of holiday lights and festive sounds. ere are countless other community events occurring throughout the year and all are an excellent way enjoy Gravette and to get to know your neighbors. It is my pleasure to be your mayor and I look forward to working alongside you this year. You can stay current on city affairs by following our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube pages.
